Ole Hanson Beach Club Wedding - San Clemente, California - Jeremiah + Lauren

Jeremiah + Lauren's Hawaiian-Californian Fusion Wedding at Ole Hanson Beach Club was one for the BOOKS! I love capturing moments like Lauren’s dad seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress, Jeremiah dancing with the Hawaiian dancers, and of course some sweet portraits of the newlyweds down on the beach! The couple tied the knot at the beachside historic Orange County, CA wedding venue,  Ole Hanson Beach Club. This is one of the venues beneath the umbrella of the luxury catering + events company, 24 Carrots. The venue has that iconic Spanish flair - white walls, wooden beams, and red tiles reminiscent of Spanish Missions. This is all thanks to Ole Hanson himself, the founder of San Clemente - a politician, real estate agent, and pioneer of bringing the Old Spain feel to the coastal community just south of Los Angeles.

As a wedding venue, this space offers enough charm and personality to really enrich a day without overwhelming it; there’s plenty of directions for your unique wedding vision to shine, but it’s not an entirely blank slate. The perfect balance for couples that are looking for a classic California venue but are excited to bring in elements that showcase their personality. That’s exactly what Jeremiah + Lauren did - check out photos below to see their one-of-a-kind guest book, the reception surfboard seating chart, and the Hawaiian-inspired florals that had me packing my bags!

Getting Ready: The Co-Ed Wedding Party (for more ideas check out this Bridal Musings post!)

The day began with the couple getting ready at separate locations, then arriving at the venue. I captured photos of the bride with her VIP squad: a co-ed group of bridesmaids and bridesmen! Sidenote: I LOVE this idea. If you’re having a wedding party, choose the people that make you feel loved + supported!

While she was tucked away in the bridal suite, I photographed Jeremiah and his groomsmen - including an emotional moment with his brother and a few silly shots to really capture the group's personality! Next Lauren saw her dad and brother for the first time in a moment that had everyone tearing up - it was so clear to see what an emotional day it was! Meanwhile, as guests arrived they signed Jeremiah + Lauren's unique guest book - a surfboard! Friends and families dropped cards + well wishes in a vintage decorated suitcase.

As her dad walked Lauren down the aisle, Jeremiah's eyes welled up beneath the macrame altar, adorned with tropical flowers from Island Leis & Bouquets. The couple exchanged vows and shared their first kiss as newlyweds, the crowd cheering in the background. Upstairs on the outdoor terrace, guests gathered at tables marked with vintage styled Hawaiian postcards while I captured a few sweet moments with the newlyweds on the beach.

They joined their guests upstairs after a grand entrance and first dance, followed by toasts. For dinner, Hawaiian pulled pork sandwiches fit the theme perfectly. Lauren shared a dance with her dad where they both teared up, and Jeremiah danced with his mom. But the best part of the reception was the awe and wonder their guests felt when Hawaiian dancers filled the room! The night ended with delicious donuts and cake. This wedding at Ole Hanson Beach Club was truly one of a kind - it was a beautiful reflection of Jeremiah and Lauren’s relationship and family.

Lauren + Jeremiah DID THE THIIIING! It was so beautiful to be part of this couple’s journey into marriage. I loved how they personalized the day in so many ways, like having a gender-neutral wedding party, hosting the Huntington Beach Polynesian dancers for reception entertainment, and incorporating their cultural heritage into the guest book, seating chart, florals, and food + drinks!
